We kicked off the month in Ecuador, a trip we’re still processing and can’t wait to share more about. It deserves a post or maybe two all on its own, so stay tuned for that. Above is a photo of our full team finally reunited! And yes, we know the cookie cake raises some questions, we promise we will explain that in a future post too.
Once we returned from Ecuador, we settled back into our usual Fellows schedule, finding our rhythm again while making room for a bit of fun along the way.
Leader Lunch
Our first Leader Lunch after returning from Ecuador was with Phillip Summers at Purple Crow. Phillip has actually spent time living in Ecuador himself, so it was especially fun to swap stories and reflect on shared experiences. We were also joined by Amy Carlan, one of the pastors at First Pres, who shared with us about her doctoral work along with other insights from her ministry.
We also had the chance to reconnect with David Speakman, who rescheduled his final class with us on the Narrative of Scripture. Although we forgot to take a picture together, we are incredibly grateful for each of these individuals and the ways they so generously invest in the Fellows.
Carolina Cocktail
The Charlotte Fellows hosted the third annual Carolina Cocktail, bringing together Fellows from programs across the region for an evening of fellowship and friendly competition. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with one another while also enjoying a bit of healthy rivalry. We are grateful to the Charlotte Fellows for putting together such a fun and memorable event.
Classes
As the Fellows prepare for what’s next after the program, we’ve been intentional about equipping them with both practical skills and personal growth opportunities. Denise Heidel led a resume workshop, followed the next week by Molly Lineberger, who taught a class on LinkedIn, professional introductions, and more.
Not pictured, Jeff Trollinger joined us for his annual “Part 2” session on personal finance. Additionally, we recently began a course on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (by Pete Scazzero) with Rob Marsh.
Jacob G takes the spotlight
Several months ago, we had the joy of celebrating Kevin’s theater debut here in Winston-Salem, and just a couple of weeks ago, we got to do the same for Jacob G. Jacob performed in The Book of Will and did a phenomenal job. This picture of his fan club truly warms my heart. It’s such a clear reflection of the strong, meaningful community he’s built such as Fellows alumni, life group members from his church, work friends, and more.
Jacob, you are so loved, and we are incredibly proud of you!
Recruitment
We are thrilled about the class that’s already taking shape for next year, we're already over halfway full!
We do still have a few spots available, so please send along anyone who may be a good fit for a year of professional, spiritual, and leadership development.
There will be a longer update of Ecuador coming soon!
