UPDATE Week of Feb 5

Bird's eye view of our beautiful city.

Celebrating Jacob C

Jacob has a summer birthday so we decided to celebrate him in January

We were low on matches

Sky is the limit for this amazingly talented, kind, and cool dude.

Leader Lunch with Christy B

One of our employers, Christy Bellis, spoke to the Fellows this week.

Christy's Leader Lunch is one of the highlights of the year. Her story really resonates with the Fellows, and she is not afraid of giving "real talk."

She is also a successful business owner, founding TheGoTo during the pandemic. The newsletter now reaches tens of thousands of people across the triad.

If you haven't subscribed, do so today

Class with Martha M

Speaking of highlights. Martha Metzler brought her unique insights and style to the Fellows and the Fellows scooped it up.

We are better because of you Martha! Thank you!

She speaks with her hands

and David S

As does David Speakman.

Although David's secret weapon of choice is the whiteboard.

The dude is a wizard with a dry erase marker.

Alum Sightings

We saw Ashley Rabon (Class 2 Fellow) and Dawn Burhans
(Family Friend) at the New Salem Counseling center on Tuesday. What a surprise and what a gift!

If you need counseling, reach out to Ashley!

Or check out New Salem

We also had a wonderful visit with Ashlyn Hodges (Year 5 Fellow) She is half way through med school and we are hoping to get her back for residency. Come on Wake! Don't make a mistake!

No Limits

Friday night, several Fellows headed to the Biotech Center for the No Limits Dance Party.

What a hoot!

We had so much fun with our friends old and new.

Fellows Fun

The Fellows continue to find fun things to do around town

Recruiting

I met a wonderful young woman this week who I hope will become a Fellow one day. She is part way through school and is currently working at Habitat for Humanity.

We had a great interview with a potential Fellow last Monday and have another few interviews this week.

Keep praying!

And keep helping us recruit!

Here is a link to the application.

Write checks to Winston-Salem Fellows

September 2025 It’s hard to believe, but this year marks the tenth class of Winston-Salem Fellows! We can’t wait for you to meet them. The first month has already been full and exciting, and we can’t wait to share some highlights with you. Plus, if you read all the way to the end, you’ll get a special update on what the very first class of Winston-Salem Fellows is up to today! Video Loading    For the past year, we’ve been dreaming about creating a new video to share the Fellows’ stories and highlight the impact of this program. Thanks to Jed’s help, that dream is becoming a reality and we can’t wait to share the finished product with you! Annual Alumni Labor Day Cookout  We kicked off the year with our annual Alumni Labor Day Cookout and it may have been the best weather we’ve ever had for this event! On Day One, we were grateful to welcome the new class of Fellows into the wider Fellows community. Winston-Salem Fellows class of 2026 We’re so excited for you to me...

October 2025

October 2025 The Carolina Classic Fair seems to usher in fall here in Winston-Salem. We are now in the full swing of our Fellow's schedule. We've celebrated birthdays, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and more!  Happy Birthday Alana! Sweet Alana is so easy to celebrate! Dharma and Gracie, from the class of '24, threw Alana a party and planned an early morning hike for our girl that loves the great outdoors! Round Table We've continued to be hosted by some incredible alumni and have done a terrible job of taking pictures. Above, Kevin was leading us in worship and Jed (dressed as a pirate) was capturing footage for our video. Thank you to all our hosts this month: Ava, Ellie, Eliza, and Hardy; Molly and Lucy; Drew, Kevin, and Jed; Steve and Christy!  Leader Lunch We are so honored and humbled by the men and women who take the time to invest in the Fellows year after year and share their stories. This month we had the privilege of being with Andrew Applegate, John Bost and ...

May 2026

The Winston-Salem Fellows class of 2025–2026 has officially graduated! We had a wonderful end to the year celebrating all that this class and our year together.  As we close out another incredible year, be sure to check out an update on the Fellows class of 2023–2024 below. We’re excited to share what they’ve been doing since graduation and how they continue to make an impact in Winston-Salem and beyond. Happy Birthday, William! William’s birthday is actually in August, but summer birthdays are always a surprise celebration around here. Although, since we celebrated at the last Round Table, I’m not sure it was much of a surprise after all.  For the guy who can’t have peanuts and doesn’t like most chocolate, birthday cake ice cream saved the day!   Leader Lunch Our last Leader Lunch of the year was with Charlie Barham at Cassia Capital. While Charlie has an  impressive résumé, much of our conversation centered on his passion for Jesus and his leadership with Bible Stu...
